Lets Talk About Headaches.

     Everyone suffers from a headache at sometime or another.  Headaches are caused by not getting enough sleep, a bright sun that is hurting the eyes, the sun reflecting itself on white snow and the person is not wearing sunglasses, and from stressful situations you are experiencing.  Also from foods you eat, like chocolate, red wine and rich foods.  Drugs and drinking fluids that are high in caffeine may also give you headaches, but probably the most common headaches that most of us get is caused by bad circulation of the blood to the brain.  This happens mostly to people who are over 40 years of age.

     When I was a boy, my dad suffered from migraine headaches and he would take pain relievers by the handful.  When I would ride the bus to work, just about everyone age 40 and over would talk about the migraine headaches they get.  Even though many of them have used all kinds of pain relievers, the headache is gone only temporarily and then it comes back.  Personally I have not had a headache for over 20 years.  What is my secret?  I will tell you.  I have an exercise program that I follow every morning.  I stretch all my muscles and then I dance to music. As a part of my exercise program, I massage the top of my head with my finger tips for a full 5 minutes every day.  I figured that if all the nerve ends are in the top of the head, and all the blood vessels end up there by massaging my scalp on a daily basis, I am probably doing more good then I think I am.  As a result from my daily efforts, I never have migraine headaches while everyone else around me are having them on a regular basis, and they don't know how to cure it.  If you are not massaging the top of your head, then you need to start doing it for 5 minutes a day.  Make this a habit.  You will be glad that you did.

     For those of you who are suffering from migraines right now, I have a few suggestions that will help.  From a health food store, you can buy a bottle of "liquid lecithin", and take a teaspoon of it and put it on the back of your tongue and swallow it.  Then take 3 vitamin b-6 pills that are 100mg each.  This will cure a migraine for several hours.  If you take a Tylenol also, it will boost the pain reliever up to 24 hours.  It is best to take this on a full stomach after you have eaten.  Again that formula is one teaspoon of lecithin, 3 100mg of vitamin b-6 pills and one Tylenol.  Not only will this formula numb a migraine, but it will also numb up other body pains you may be experiencing.  Lecithin has positive side effects.  It lowers the blood pressure.  It kills free radicals.  It kills cancer cells.  It dissolves blood clots, and it also slows down your aging process.

     Another way to cure a headache is to run both hands down the back side of your neck several times.  This causes blood to quickly circulate throughout the brain. This is a great exercise for people who are over 60 years old.

     A third way to stop a migraine is to rest your bare feet on ice packs on the floor and lean back on a bed and cover yourself with a blanket.  Then go to sleep for an hour.  This will allow the blood to circulate in the brain, and it will cure a migraine.

     Another way to relieve a headache is  to drink peppermint tea, which can be found in any grocery store.  peppermint tea is an all-around body balancer and it will settle the stomach and calm the nerves all over the human body.  If a person were to drink peppermint tea and throw away coffee and the commercial teas, then they would be 100% more healthier.  I kid you not.

     Word of Caution: Do not take more than 3 Tylenol a day because it could damage your liver.  It says that right on the Tylenol bottle.  Do not use Aspirin to cure a headache.  Aspirin will destroy the natural vitamins that you get from eating vegetables and fruits thus lowering you immune system, making your body more acceptable to the common diseases. Also too much aspirin that is used at one time, it could put a hole in your stomach. So use Caution and wisdom when using aspirin. Aspirin is commonly used by Doctors as a blood thinner but you need to see your Doctor as to how and when to use Aspirin as a medicine.

     If you practice and apply the methods I have told you, you can and will cure a migraine headache.  Do not forget also to make it a habit to massage your scalp with your fingertips for 5 minutes or more everyday. If I never have headaches then it should do wonders for you too!

An Easy Way To Lower Your Blood Pressure.

     When we go to the doctor and have a blood pressure test, we are often very concerned when it comes out on the high side.  This is often more common in older people and overweight people.  Most generally men will have a higher blood pressure than women.  As you get older, your arteries will become smaller and will begin to harden up.  This makes poor circulation, thus giving you higher blood pressure.  Doctors have a way to lower your blood pressure, but it takes a couple of weeks to kick in and from what I have been told by others who have used this, it has negative side affects and it is a little pricey.  Also for those who use caffeinated drinks like Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, the cola drinks, energy drinks, and the commercial teas and coffee they are lucky if they  make it to their 60's. All of these Caffeinated drinks will harden your arteries and give you poor blood circulation. Those who drink a lot of Mountain Dew, this drink will weaken your knees and someday you will have to have a doctor give you new knees. It is best to leave the Mountain Dew alone.. If you are a heavy drinker of any of these caffeinated  drinks, you need to quit now if you wish to live longer and more healthier then the " Average Joe ".
     Here is an easy way to lower your blood pressure.  Go to a health foods store and buy organic vinegar.  Some food stores sell this product, but many do not.  A common brand of organic vinegar is called "Braggs".  You will see pulp in this vinegar and that is okay because it is not as refined as other vinegar.  Also because organic is attached to the product, it means that only organically grown apples were used to make this vinegar.  They were grown without chemical fertilizers or sprays.  In other words, the apples used in this vinegar were by far more healthier than other apples.
     A quart of this vinegar costs only 7 or 8 dollars, and it will last you 2 or 3 months.  Or you could buy a whole gallon of organic vinegar for about 18 dollars, and this will last you a whole year.
     For directions, you take a glass of cold water and put a cap-full or a teaspoon of vinegar into the water and then drink it.  I do this when I get thirsty and I do not measure it.  I just dump some into a glass of water and drink it.  Vinegar is a natural opener.  It will soften your arteries and open them up providing you with better blood circulation.
     Vinegar does have side effects, but they are positive ones.  Do you want to hear the side effects?  After drinking this water with the vinegar, you will see a change for the better in your blood pressure in just 12 hours.  Yes you read that right.  your blood pressure will begin to lower itself in just 12 hours.  Vinegar will slow down your aging process.  If you take this vinegar on a regular basis, you will not have the wrinkles on your face like older people do.  Organic Vinegar is high in a mineral called potassium, therefore making vinegar an antioxidant.  In other words, potassium will help to destroy cancer cells in your body if you have any.  Also by taking vinegar it will dissolve all the crystals in the human body.  This means you will not have kidney stones, gallbladder stones, nor will you suffer from gout.  Gout is when crystals form on the bottom of your feet and it hurts to walk on them.  Just for these side effects alone is a good reason to take vinegar on a regular basis.
     Now, would you like to double your chances of lowering your blood pressure naturally?  This 2nd product also has positive side effects.  This natural product is called "Liquid Lecithin".  It is also known as soybean oil and it is thicker than honey.  It costs about 7 dollars a pint.  This will last you for about 2 months.  You take one teaspoon every other day.  Because it is so thick, I most generally will put this on the back of my tongue and swallow it.  Would you like to hear the side effects?  Like vinegar, lecithin is also an antioxidant and it too will kill cancer cells in your body.  It also kills free radicals.  It cleans out the blood stream of foreign matter.  It softens and strengthens the arteries.  Like vinegar, lecithin also slows down your aging process.  If you have any blood clots, lecithin is always at work dissolving them.  If you are faithful in taking lecithin on a regular basis, you will not suffer from stroke like other people do (but that also is based on how many caffeinated drinks you are taking.  If you are using any of them, you need to quit.  I am serious about this!).  One last thing about using lecithin, it will make the body resist the common disease called pneumonia  But I strongly believe that everyone needs to practice common sense and good judgement.  Be sure to tell others what you now know.
     One word of caution:  Do not drink milk after drinking the vinegar water.  Vinegar will sour milk in your body.  Also do not drink milk after eating any pickled foods.  Milk and vinegar do not mix!
     
     There are other natural ways to lower your blood pressure.  Below is a list of them:

     1. Take a Cayenne Pepper capsule once a day. This is a great blood purifier and it will lower your blood pressure. Cayenne Pepper opens the arteries and provides better blood circulation all over the whole body. Now if you don't mind eating hot food you could add Red Pepper to much of your food to lower blood pressure. But if you are like me, I do not like hot food. So when I eat a heavy meal, I will eat half of it, then I will swallow a cayenne pepper capsule, and then I will eat the rest of my meal. In this way you will not experience any of the hotness of your food. You can buy " Cayenne Fruit ", as it is called, 40,000 STU, at any store that sells vitamins and minerals. Only take one capsule per meal! Or you will suffer from an awful belly ache. I know, and it is no fun. Cayenne Pepper is also excellent in getting rid of stomach ulcers.
     2. Believe it or not-WALKING-is the number one exercise for lowering the blood pressure. Walking causes the blood to circulate throughout the whole body. It is good to walk at least a mile or more a day. If you can squeeze in two to five miles a day, then that would be so much better. Even better then this would be to walk two or more miles in the morning and then walk another two or more miles in the evening. It is wise to spend 10 or 15 minutes stretching your legs and body muscles before each walk.
     3. Add more-CELERY-to your diet. Eating more raw celery with your meals will lower your blood pressure. When you watch TV, or drive to work or go to the movies, take along plenty of celery sticks to munch on. Eating lots of raw Celery will also help to control Arthritis Pains that you may experiencing anywhere in your body. One of the number one remedies for arthritis is to drink fresh celery juice and you could double that effect if you mixed celery and carrot juice made from your own juicer. You would drink these two juices half and half.
     4. Eating foods that are high in the mineral called POTASSIUM will also lower your blood pressure. Food that is high in potassium are as follows:  1. Dried fruit.  2. Baked potatoes.  3. Cantaloupe.  4. Apples. 5. Bananas.  6. Spinach.  7. Honeydew melons.  8. Watermelons.  9. Avocados.  10. Orange colored squash.  11. Raisins.  and  12. Molasses. Of course we have talked  about the Potassium that we find in organic vinegar.  Potassium has a miraculous effect on blood pressure. It will pump sodium out of the body's cells and reduce body fluid, and it also effects blood vessel resistance.  If you decide to take Potassium supplements, talk to your doctor first. Why?  Because taking too much of the Potassium supplements could upset the balance of minerals in your body and cause both heart and kidney problems.
     Remember this saying: " An Apple and Banana a day will keep the doctor away. "  Why?  Because both of these foods will lower your Blood Pressure.
     5. Drink  " Molasses and Milk ".  Molasses has 20 times more potassium in it then what other foods may have. Put a level teaspoon of molasses into a 16 fl. oz. glass and stir well. It will have a natural Maple flavor to it, but drinking a glass of this kind of milk every day will help to keep your blood pressure down. Be sure that you buy  " Grandmas' Molasses " because it will not have a bitter taste like the other brands of molasses.
     6. Eating foods that is naturally high in  " VITAMIN  C " will help to control your blood pressure. The following is a list of the foods that are high in vitamin C and how many milligrams there are per serving::

  •  One Guava-165 mg.   
  •  One Red Sweet Pepper-141 mg.   
  •  One half of a Cantaloupe-114 mg.
  •  One 4 ounce can of Pimientos-108 mg.   
  •  One Sweet Green Pepper-96 mg.   
  •  One half of a Papaya-94 mg.   
  •  One cup of raw Strawberries-88 mg.   
  •  Six Brussels Sprouts-80 mg.   
  •  The juice from one Grapefruit-76 mg.   
  •  One Kiwi Fruit-74 mg.   
  •  One Orange-70 mg.   
  •  One cup of cooked Tomatoes-44 mg.   
  •  Store bought Orange Juice-52 mg. per cup.   
  •  One half cup of cooked Broccoli-50 mg.   
  •  One cup of Tomato Juice-44 mg.   
  •  One half of a Grapefruit-44 mg. and of course a whole Grapefruit would have-88 mg.   
  •  One cup of raw Broccoli-40 mg.   
  •  One half cup of raw Cauliflower-36 mg.   
  •  One half of a cup of Peas-32 mg. a full cup will be-64 mg.  
  •  One half of cup of cooked Kale-28 mg.   
  •  Carrots also half a fair amount of vitamin C in them. In fact all vegetables that are grown in an organically grown garden, they all have a fair amount of vitamin C in them. We could make a general statement that the eating of any fresh grown garden vegetables will lower and control blood pressure.

    7. Eating foods that are high in Calcium, this in itself will help to lower your blood pressure. Foods that are high in Calcium are as follows:


  •       All canned fish with the bones still present. Eating both the fish and the bones in a can is not a problem. This includes Mackerel, Salmon and Sardines. A can of fish with the bones has about 180 mg. of Calcium in it. Sardines have 150 mg.
  •       Non fat Yogurt. has 225 mg. per 4 ounces.
  •       Parmesan Cheese. One ounce of this cheese has 340 mg. of Calcium.
  •       Milk.  One cup of Milk has 300 mg. of Calcium in it.
  •       One cup of Orange Juice with Calcium has 300 mg.
  •       A half of a cup of cooked Collards has 180 mg.
  •       5 Dried Figs has  136 mg.
  •       A half of a cup of cooked Turnip Greens has 100 mg.
  •       A half of a cup of cooked Kale, Broccoli or Okra, any of these three will have 90 mg.
  •       A half of a cup of Baked Beans has 80 mg. of Calcium.
  •       A half of a cup of cooked Chickpeas has 60 mg.
  •       A half of a cup of cooked White Beans has 46 mg. and Pinto Beans has 40 mg.


     Alfalfa Seed is not really considered a food but the eating of this food is very healthy for you and the Calcium content in these seeds are high. It is one the highest of all foods. Some Alfalfa Seed has Chemicals on them and they are used for planting. So when you buy it ask for Alfalfa Seed that is used for Alfalfa sprouts. This seed has not been treated with Chemicals and it is safe to eat. This can be bought at any seed company that sells seeds for sprouting or they sell garden seeds. Alfalfa Spouts have 10 times more Calcium then the seed does.
     Grind up the the Alfalfa Seed in a coffee grinder. I bought a coffee grinder to grind seed and grain only so that the food will not have the coffee bean taste. You can buy a small one at a Wal-Mart store for 20 dollars. Then you can sprinkle the ground up seed into hot cereals, mashed potatoes, any stews or soups, you can add it to the dough of any of your baking products or your pancake batter. Use your imagination. When you are adding this ground up seed to your food you are automatically fortifying all of your food with Calcium.
     Alfalfa Seed Sprouts are also very  high in Calcium. These sprouts are also high in most of the common Vitamins and Minerals. You could say that these sprouts are a vitamin pill all in itself. Alfalfa sprouts are easy to make and you don't need special equipment to make them. All you need is a quart sized jar and an old nylon sock that you attach to the bottle with a rubber band. Add two tablespoons of Alfalfa Seed into the jar and add a little bit of water and swish the water through the seed to get them all wet and dump the remainder of the water down the drain. Trice a day, put fresh water into the jar and dump the excess down the drain. Put this jar on the kitchen counter and in about 12 to 15 days the sprouts will be ready to eat. Remember to rinse the seeds twice a day with fresh water. This will give you high quality sprouts.
     Some people eat their sprouts plain while others like to eat them with salt and pepper. I enjoy mine in salads or they taste great on meat sandwiches. Another way to enjoy Alfalfa Sprouts is to put them into white gravies and run them through a blender. Or you could put Radish and/or Onion seed sprouts and blend them into your gravies. You would add the blended gravy to mashed potatoes and add some real butter and salt and pepper. This sounds really yummy! And it is!

Cook with Stainless Steel Pots and Pans. Stay Away From Aluminum.

     There are two kinds of aluminum, organic and inorganic.  Organic aluminum is found in many of the green leafy vegetables that we eat and root crops like beets, carrots, and turnips.  This is a natural mineral that is good for the human body.  The inorganic aluminum is no good for the human body.  Once it is in the body, it cannot be removed.  It is there to stay, except there is one possible way to remove the aluminum.
     How do we get inorganic aluminum into our bodies?  The aluminum pots and pans that we cook our food with are always oxidizing in our earth's atmosphere.  When we cook food in aluminum cookware, the food absorbs those aluminum particles, and when we eat food that has been prepared in aluminum cookware we are putting that inorganic aluminum directly into our bodies.  This is known as "Aluminum Poisoning".  If you read the articles of those who have done research on the why's and the causes of "Alzheimer's Disease" they claim that the brain loses it's natural shape and becomes Stringy. While examining the brain, many particles of aluminum are found there.  They really don't say that the aluminum particles are the cause of this disease. Right now researchers don't know what causes Alzheimer's nor do they have a cure for it.  But aluminum particles are found on the brain. Most generally it was cooking with Aluminum pots and pans that put that Aluminum into our bodies in the first place.
     To prevent these aluminum particles from going into the body, throw away all of your aluminum cookware and cook with stainless steel, cast iron, regular steel or glass and/or stone cookware.  I personally disagree with copper and/or pans with copper bottoms.  Why?  Because in welding classes they claim that very hot copper will put out a poisonous gas.  In my opinion, if leaking natural gas will be absorbed by Bread giving it a bad taste, then food cooked in some kind of copper cookware will also absorb this poisonous gas.  But I do not know how sick it could make you.  So I do not cook with copper pans.  I cook only with stainless steel. Some stainless steel pans have aluminum in it's construction to provide even heat and that is okay because you cannot see it and the food only touches stainless steel. There is a new product of cook ware called Titanium. It is a very heavy duty metal and in the form of pots and pans it cooks food very evenly. The people who have used this line of cook ware are very pleased with it. All though I think it does cost more then the Stainless Steel cookware.
     If you feel like you have a lot of inorganic aluminum particles in your body and you would like to try and get it out of your system, they claim there is a natural way of doing that.  That secret is to Eat Raw Sesame Seeds.  This acts like a magnet absorbing the aluminum particles and it gets them out of the human body, but the seeds have to be ground up fresh and consumed.  Whole seeds will not work.  Also, Eating Sesame Seeds are very healthy for you. Some hamburger buns have Sesame Seeds on them but most of them will go through your body in the whole form and they will not do you any good at all.  In grade A dairy processing plants Milk touches stainless steel only.  It never touches aluminum.  If you know of anyone who cooks with aluminum cookware, do them a favor and tell them to use stainless steel pots and pans only.

      So, do not eat any food that has been prepared with Aluminum Cook Ware. If you have any of this cookware, get rid of it now. Go to a store and tell them that you want Stainless Steel Cook Ware Only. There are many to choose from and you don't have buy a big fancy set for several hundred dollars. You could buy a nice set of stainless steel cookware set for under 100 dollars from the Heartland Liquidation magazine. On Google Search punch in HeartlandAmerica.com. Or you could buy a fry pan and a large sauce pan to get your self started and then add on when you get more money. Believe it or not some of my pots and pans came from thrift stores. But you have to know which is which other wise you will be buying Aluminum cook ware all over again. Remember this, if you buy brand new Stainless Cook Ware from a store it will last you the rest of your life, and you will be buying some top Quality Stainless Steel Cook Ware when you buy it from any major store.

      Dutch Ovens are becoming more popular. Most of them are made out of Cast Iron. This is excellent for cooking all kinds of food. But they also make Aluminum Dutch Ovens that are a very shiny silver. Do not let the appearance of this dutch oven fool you.       Most of the cookware that is sold at the Boy Scout Outlet Stores for the individual scout who cooks for himself, they are made out of aluminum. When I was a Boy Scout, we were poor and so we used some of Mom's old cookware that she would not be missed if we failed to bring it home. These outlet stores did sell some stainless steel pots and pans to scout leaders if they were cooking for the whole group but they also sold aluminum ones and most troupes would buy the aluminum ones because they were sold at a cheaper price. So the next time you buy cookware for your scout, make sure you are NOT buying Aluminum. cookware.
