Is High Cholesterol In Our Bodies As Serious As It Is Claimed To Be?

     When I grew up, cholesterol was never a serious issue, nor did anyone ever say too much or too little about cholesterol being good or bad in your system.  After I turned 40 years old, cholesterol became a big issue.  Now days, the test on our bodies for a cholesterol count is rated in numbers.  When it is a high number, doctors encourage their patients to take some inorganic pill that will drop the cholesterol number down to a lower, but safer level.  The doctor will also tell us to avoid some foods because they are high in cholesterol.
     What is my opinion of too much cholesterol in our bodies?  I honestly believe this cholesterol count is all a bunch of baloney.  We are being brain washed into thinking this is a very serious issue, and we panic when the doctor says our cholesterol count is too high.
     Did you know that cholesterol is important in the body, and you need lots of it to make your body organs function okay?  It is like oil in a car motor that keeps parts moving smoothly, and the oil helps to cool the engine so it will not overheat.  In a similar manner, that is what cholesterol is doing for our bodies.  We need a high count of cholesterol in our bodies in order to keep our organs tuned up and running properly.  We need lots of cholesterol around our brains so that they function normally.  One of the best foods that will provide plenty of good cholesterol around the brain, is to eat plenty of eggs.  Anytime of day you can eat fried, or hard-boiled eggs. Although the cholesterol is of a higher quality if eggs are not well done.
     As a general rule, if you are eating a diet of fresh fruits and vegetables on a daily basis, and you are eating whole grains that have the germ and bran in them, then you will never have to worry about getting bad cholesterol in your bodies, nor will you ever have to worry about a cholesterol count being too high.
     If there is any bad cholesterol out there, the bad cholesterol comes from eating non-nutritional foods, or foods that have no natural vitamins or minerals whatsoever.  An example:  French fries, potato chips, most salted snack foods you eat out of a bag, donuts, candy, and bleach-white flour products.  Have you ever heard the saying "The whiter the bread, the more you are dead"?  That is because most white breads on the market are made with white flour that has no nutrition in it.  All of the natural nutrition has been removed.
     If you think you have bad cholesterol in you body from eating junk food, do not take the doctor's pill for getting rid of cholesterol.  This pill gets rid of all cholesterol and that is not what you want.  Besides that, this doctor's pill for destroying cholesterol will also destroy your liver.
     To get rid of bad cholesterol, if you think may have some, do any of the following:

  1. Buy a bottle of "Liquid Lecithin" for about $7.00 a bottle at a health food store, and take a teaspoon every other day.  This is soybean oil, and it is thicker than honey.  So put it on the back of your tongue and swallow.  This will clean out all the foreign matter in your blood stream, and it will destroy all the bad cholesterol, but not the good.  It also kills free radicals, lowers your blood pressure, slows down your aging process, and it dissolves any blood clots you may have anywhere in your body.
  2. Eat a bowl of hot oatmeal cereal 2 or 3 times a week.  You can eat oatmeal anytime during the day.  It is not just a breakfast food.  I make oatmeal very tasty by adding a dab of butter (butter is also good for brain cholesterol), add brown sugar, a bit of salt so it will not have a flat taste.  Add vanilla and/or maple flavoring (a couple drops of each), some cinnamon and raisins if you like them.  Then you add milk and/or vanilla ice cream. I have also added chocolate chips to my oatmeal. Peanut Butter and Butterscotch chips also taste good in oatmeal. This combination makes the best oatmeal cereal you have ever tasted.  
  3. Eating white walnuts will also get rid of bad cholesterol. Walnuts are also good brain food.
  4. Drink Red Bush Tea-At a health food it is called " Kaffree Tea ". Not only will this get rid of Bad Cholesterol but it will also kill Free Radicals, improve the memory, it will stop body cramps and bring strength back into tired legs. Most of all it will kill Cancer Cells in your body. 
  5. Eating the Spice called  " turmeric " will help to lower your cholesterol. This Spice is not HOT but it does have a strong taste and if to much is used, your food will have a turmeric taste. Please read my article: " The Spice Called Turmeric ".
  6. Eating Garlic will get rid of bad cholesterol. It will also lower your blood pressure. It will prevent or cure the common cold or flu and prevent many other diseases. It is wise to eat Garlic on a regular bases or take Garlic supplements on a daily bases. 
     In conclusion, if you are eating good nutritious food on a regular basis that are rich in the natural vitamins and minerals, there will be no such thing as bad cholesterol.  From practicing these good habits of eating, only good cholesterol will be going into your body, and you will never have to worry about a cholesterol count being too high.

Caution:  Do not take the cholesterol pills that the doctor gives you.  They will destroy your liver.

Beware of Improper Food Combinations!

     I use to live back in one of the northern eastern states, and then I moved out west to a western state of the United States.  I discovered a few things had changed in the way of food.  Jello is a dessert back east, but out in the west it is a common salad.  It could be served plain, or with fruit, or with ground up vegetables, or set upon a lettuce leaf, or it can be served with a salad dressing topping, or with whipped cream, and it is still called a salad.  A fruit salad is the same way, even if it is served with pudding, or lots of whipped cream. This is a salad in the west, and dessert in the east.
     Another tradition that the west practices is the eating of dutch oven potatoes, and heavy on the meat.  The meat could be chicken, beef, beef steaks, or BBQ pork spare ribs.  The combination of heavily eating meat, and potatoes is practiced on almost every weekend, and on holidays.  After all this food is consumed, it naturally causes and upset stomach, and people take "Tums" for an upset "tummy", and after a few days they are again eating heavy on the meat and potatoes,  and then eat more tums to settle their stomach.  Heavy on the meat and potatoes is an improper food combination that will do you more harm than good.  Why is this so?  Well it takes an acid digestive juice to digest meat and an alkali juice to digest potatoes.  In the laws of chemistry, when you mix an acid with an alkali, it neutralizes each other.  In other words, as digestion juices, mixing these two different juices together will not digest your food because the proper causes of these digestive juices had been destroyed when you mixed an alkali with an acid.  So therefore, the combination of a lot of meat and a lot of potatoes will not get digested, and it will rot in your stomach, creating gas and an upset stomach.  The taking of tums will absorb the gas and it will help to relieve upset stomach, but the undigested food will just push itself through the intestines, and can cause constipation and other problems.  The people who are eating these bad food combinations don't understand what is taking place, and that is why they are right back to eating heavy on the meat and potatoes and tums all over again.  By practicing this style of eating the meat and potatoes over and over again, the body is not getting the proper nutrients, and the natural vitamins.  It is all being wasted away.  This form of eating will lower the immune system, and you will be sick more often.  Always remember that you can eat heavy on the meat and vegetables, or eat heavy on the potatoes and vegetables.  These two combinations will properly digest in your system.  But the heavy eating of meat and potatoes must be avoided.  This is an improper food combination.
     Another improper food combination that should be avoided are pickled products and milk.  You never mix vinegar with milk.  Why?  Vinegar will sour the milk and it will upset your stomach. I have heard that pregnant women like to eat pickles and ice cream. Eating these two separately is OK but they should never be eaten together. It will only make you feel sicker.
     I don't know who started the tradition of eating watermelon for dessert after eating a heavy meal, but after a heavy meal, the watermelon will rot in the stomach, and it will not get properly digested.  In other words, the vitamin C that is found in watermelon will do you no good at all, because it was not properly digested.  If you want to take the best advantage of the minerals and vitamins that are found in fruit,  the fruit needs to be eaten by itself, or eating it at least a half hour before a meal.  Fruit should never be eaten after a meal.  So from now on, eat fruit by itself as a separate meal, or a half hour at least before a meal, or at least 2 hours after a meal. Eating the fruit separately will help to lower your blood pressure, but the eating of fruit right after a heavy meal or the eating of an improper food combinations, this will raise your blood pressure, because your Heart has to work very hard in digesting that rough food. So be Wise when it comes to eating food combinations.

     Other food combinations that should be avoided are:

  1. High protein foods like winter wheat, meat, poultry, fish and eggs.  These should never be followed by the eating of sweet desserts.
  2. Citrus fruits should never be eaten with cabbage, or turnip greens.;
  3. Apricots are not eaten with green leafy vegetables.
  4. Prunes should never be eaten with onions and cabbage.
  5. Do not eat carrots and grapes together.
  6. Radishes and figs do not mix together.
  7. Never mix blackberries and beets.
  8. Mixing bananas and raw onions will create lots of gases in the stomach and intestines.
  9. This is my own personal one:  Never mix black olives and split pea soup together.
  10. Cheese and raw onions will create gas----If everyone seriously would leave alone these "  Improper Food Combinations  ", I do believe that the Tums Company would fold up and no longer be in business.
